Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
Novethy is operated by JASEN Y. THAM, based in Singapore. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain English rather than legal fog.
What we collect
Guest sessions. You can use Novethy without signing up. We create a guest account for you and store your date of birth, so we can check you're old enough. No email or password is collected.
Your account. Your email address, the name you choose to display, and your date of birth. We ask for date of birth only to check you're old enough to use Novethy — we don't use it for anything else.
Your conversations. Everything you write to Novethy and everything Novethy writes back is stored on our servers, so you can come back to a conversation later. This is the most sensitive thing we hold, and we treat it that way.
Usage information. How many messages you've sent, and which plan you're on, so we can apply the right limits.
Payment information. If you subscribe, Stripe handles your card. We never see or store your card number. We keep a customer reference from Stripe so we know your subscription is active.
Basic technical data. Standard server logs, including IP address, needed to run the service and prevent abuse.
What we do with it
We use your information to run Novethy: to let you sign in, to hold your conversation history, to generate Novethy's replies, to enforce message limits, and to handle billing.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
Who else touches your data
To run Novethy we rely on a small number of service providers:
- Supabase — stores your account and conversations
- Lovable — hosts the application
- An AI model provider — receives your messages in order to generate Novethy's replies. Your messages are sent for processing and are not used to train their models.
- Stripe — processes payments
These providers may process data outside Singapore, including in the United States and the European Union. We only use providers who commit to appropriate security and confidentiality standards.
When we might disclose
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith that there is a serious and immediate risk to someone's life or safety. This is rare and we would not do it lightly. We mention it because we'd rather be honest than promise absolute confidentiality we can't guarantee.
How long we keep things
We keep your conversations while your account is open, so you can return to them.
If you delete your account, we delete your conversations and personal information from our active systems within 30 days. Backups may take up to 90 days to cycle out. Some billing records are kept longer where tax law requires it.
Guest sessions. If you start talking without signing up, we create a guest account for you so your conversation and message allowance work normally. Guest accounts and everything in them — conversations, messages and usage records — are deleted automatically after 30 days of inactivity. If you sign up, that same account becomes permanent and your conversations are kept as normal.
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.
Your choices
You can:
- See your data — export all your conversations from your account settings
- Correct it — change your display name at any time
- Delete it — delete your account and everything in it
- Ask us questions — email jasenytham@gmail.com and we'll respond within 30 days
If you're in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in Singapore, the Personal Data Protection Act applies and you may complain to the PDPC.
Users under 18
Novethy is available to people aged 15 and over. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 15 to create an account.
If you are under 18, please tell a parent or guardian that you're using Novethy. A parent or guardian may contact us at jasenytham@gmail.com to ask what information we hold about their child, or to request that we delete it. We may need to verify the relationship before acting.
If we learn that someone under 15 has created an account, we'll delete it and its contents.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, database-level access controls that prevent any user from reading another user's conversations, and restricted internal access. No system is perfectly secure, but conversations of this kind deserve real care and we've built accordingly.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect.
